Changing Font

I’m after a bit more creative control with my blog.  At the moment, with the basic Word Press functionality, I can’t change the style or size of font.
These are the exciting options I have.  Yep, there’s Italics.  Woohoo.  And a bit of bold.  Not exactly boat floating material.  I do have the exciting ability to strikethrough…but I’ve never really understood the purpose of that.  I feel like if it’s a mistake, I’d delete it.  I guess it’s for irony making a point.
So, with the Word Press options, I can do this (sorry for the lack of inspirational sentences):

I believe I can fly – heading 1

I can see a rainbow – heading 2

I saw a mouse with clogs on – heading 3

Catch a falling star – heading 4

Doe a deer – heading 5
The Hills are alive… – heading 6
Insert something funny here - preformatted

I suppose the benefit of having few options is that it keep things consistent, but it is a tad boring.
So, after doing a bit of digging about in Google, I don’t think I’ll have the option to select different fonts.  I think they’re all linked to the Word Press theme selected.  I’ve found this article though, and I’m going to give Method 2 a go http://www.wpbeginner.com/beginners-guide/how-to-change-the-font-size-in-wordpress/
Oooh, so I’ve installed it.  I’ve now got a drop down menu of about 15 fonts.  Some of the ridiculously stupid ones like this (What’s the point?), Webdings and Wingdings  ( (that’s Webdings and Wingdings).  But I’ve also got the option to change font sizes from this to a whooping great big this!
That’ll give me the ability to shout!  Still though, what the website warned was that “the biggest downside of this method is if you ever change themes, you have to account for all the font size changes you made in individual posts.”  So, if I do go making my posts all fancy with different fonts and sizes, then change the look of my website, it’ll wipe out everything I’ve done.  Good to know.
For now though, I do like having one or two more options to tinker with.  I have to admit, I’ll have to rein it in, as this post is looking a bit messy visually.
